The Super 18 has an established provenance, but where has the '1963 prototype' popped up from?

Yellow was never a Burns colour and the whole thing looks more like a 'bitsa'.

I agree with Ray, the "Bitsa" probably came from the dreaded music ground!.

From what I can see the knobs don't look Burns and looks like a Fender style selector. Must be very heavy. Whether or not original it's an interesting take and project. Don't thing anyone's claiming it to be Burns original.

Other photos of the Burns "1963 Prototype" 4/6 Double-Neck reveal further discrepancies that confirm its dodgy origins, such as a metal four-screw neckplate securing the bass neck and the very obviously wrong scratchplate material, not to mention some poor shaping of the latter. Bill has already spotted the Strat-style lever switch and other incorrect components, while the two Re-An metal toggle types didn't see service until later in the '60s, and the mini-switch most certainly wasn't around back then. The end result is a real dog's dinner, although it does manage to make more credible use of various genuine parts than some of the fake Burns double-neckers that have surfaced over the years. The owner of this particular wannabee is a US enthusiast who has quite a few Burns instruments in his very extensive collection, some of which are unfortunately equally suspect.

Regard less of authenticity, originality, I think it's a great idea!

Can I have a Marvin/Double Six twin-neck please?

(Trouble is, I'd never be able to make up my mind whether to have a white one or a greenburst one. Would have to get one of each.)
