A neat little one-page look-back at the Burns Baldwin GB 65 from 1965 in the latest Guitar & Bass (Feb 2017) (p.99). They like it!

Is that the country-looking guitar which was the predecessor to the Baldwin Virginian?

Thanks.

I remember seeing one of these for sale (new) in the window at Frank Hessy's in Liverpool in 1965.

Overall, I don't think Hessy's ever sold many Burns guitars, probably because they didn't keep them in stock much. I also recall a GB66 Deluxe there in about 1967, but never a Marvin, Double-Six, etc.

I had one back in 1970 - it was ok but nothing special. I kept it less than a year. I believe I got £30 for it

Getting rather peeved with G&B as my subscription copy hasn't arrived, even though the Feb issue has been on the shelves for some time...
