Hi Jim

Seventy-seven quid? Well, it was the one that started the interest in Burns guitars.

For people putting a collection together, perhaps a small price to pay. (but I'm glad I didn't have to - mine were bought from Paul back then)

The two at the back were issued by Per online - effectively additions to Pearls, with details of things he'd found out after Pearls was published.

The two smaller books at the front are the first and second editions of The Shadows - The Burns Years, written and produced by our own George Geddes, with contributions from Tony Hoffman, Barry Gibson and others. The story of the Marvin, the Rostill bass, etc.

A book that got missed out of the picture was Guitar Family Trees by Terry Burrows which has an eight-page section on Burns guitars, including a family tree and individual pages on the Vibra Artist, the Bison, the Marvin and the Flyte.

Just a minor correction , Ray. Although I did indeed write the main text for 'The Burns Years' booklets, the booklets themselves were published by Tony Hoffman.

At Tony's request last year, I rewrote the main article in anticipation of a third edition. However by the timeI finished it, Tony was busy with a new business venture so it remains unpublished. Not a lot has happened in the interim as far as the Shadows-Burns connection is concerned, but if a 3rd edition goes ahead, I will need to check it once again.
