Future "Burns Night" at The Surrey Shadows Club

Following the recent very successful visit by Barry Gibson (Mr Burns) to The Surrey Shadows Club, we're planning to make one of our future meeting into a Burns Night Special. Watch this space for more news of this event.

That sounds great - please do give it plenty of publicity when you hold it. I'll do my best to be there with my February 1965 Burns Marvin and a DeArmond 610... ;)

Who have you got lined up to propose The Immortal Memory? Someone will need to recite Tam O'Shanter and address the haggis. Are there enough lassies to justify a toast?

. . . . . . and if I bring along my '59 Artist (see avatar on right) there could be a competition to see how far each guitaist can get when playing Apache on the second octave of it's 23 3/8" scale offset contour neck before saying "How the *!*! do you play this thing?" and giving up . . . . . . .

We are pleased to inform readers that we have agreed with Barry Gibson the date for the special BURNS NIGHT at the Surrey Shadows Club will be on Friday 15th October 2010 from 7:30 to 11:30pm. Full details to be published next week in our invitation poster.
