Are those necks very narrow as well?

I've got a Burns-Weill bass and it's got a super narrow neck, off centre profile...oh- and old Jim must have just stuck the frets in by eye after a couple of pints because they aren't close to being right- especially after the 12th! Sort of like a banjo out of a nightmare...

The Artist that you see in my avatar is 42mm across the zero fret - not particularly narrow.

Other 'Burns family' necks in my collection (Hayman, Shergold) are only 40mm, as is my Baldwin 712T - and that packs 12 strings into its 40mm!

Incidentally, I'll be taking the Artist to the 'Burns Night' at the Surrey Shadows Club on Friday.

Interesting...this bass is 38mm at the nut.

Would love to check out the offset thing on a guitar, but Surrey's a bit far for me...

Ive took the truss rod cover off today, and the truss rod looks okay, there are 2 nuts on top of each other? Is that right?
And how the heck do I adjust it? Was there meant to be a little spanner or something included when the guitar was new?
Any help?
Thanks.
