This was posted in Craigslist in Ventura County, California. It's about 75 miles south of me.

If anyone is interested, I'll be glad to inquire on your behalf. Cannot tell much from the pictures as to its condition or originality.

Cheers, John

Hi, John,

That looks like one of the recent reissue Shadows Basses. But at 300 USD, it's the bargain of the year in Ventura County.

Abel - you checking this out? Ventura's pretty close to you too, isn't it?

JN

PS: I've forwarded the ad's URL to Abel.

Hi
This certainly looks like The shadows john rostill Re-issue which is still available
if you can find one.
These are excellent basses, i prefer mine to any Fender i have owned or used.
At 300 usd it realy is a bargain
they retail in the uk for £899 to £1050 new and around £600 to £700 for a good used example
with case, and coa etc.
it doesnt appear to have the case or coa but at that price its a steal ! BUY IT

Regards
jay

Looks like somebody snapped up the Rostill Bass. The Craigslist URL now shows only the amp head. Hope it went to someone who will appreciate it.

Cheers!

John

Abel from The International Men of Mystery? I saw them at the recent benefit concert for Eddie Bertrand organized by Surf Guitar 101 and was blown away. Plus, how the hell do you assemble a Shadows cover band in Southern California :?: If their rhythm player ever bails, I channel Bruce Welch very well and I'm only 80 miles north (beg, beg, beg)!

Cheers,

John
