Burns Shadows Bass Tuners

Hello, dear colleagues and friends,
today I would like to ask for advice: I have an old Shadows Burns bass (1965) here and two of the tuners are missing the plastic parts so you need some heavy stuff for tuning the instrument which is not very comfortable on stage and probably anywhere. So I am looking for two of these tuners (right side of scroll headstock) and maybe somebody can help me with these. I asked Burns already but the answer was their todays product is not exact the same size and they sell only 4 at once and the price is pharmacy-like.

my email is shadows@impleo.de and I will appreciate any serious answer.

Cheers Robert

I think the only way to solve your problem is to have a local plastics company mould a new set of plastic buttons using one of the existing buttons as a pattern.

If You cant Find a plastics company to help you
how about getting 4 made from a hardwood eg ebony
im sure it wouldnt be that difficult for some one who has a wood lathe etc.
if i recall the pics of jet's Blue burns shadows bass posted on here by Geoff Alderton
show the end of the tuners made from wood?

Hi, guys and thank you very much for your comments and proposals. To find a local plastics company would be the best I guess.
