Macari's

Hi All,

If you have a look at Macari's web site you will see some pictures of a lovely, 1964 Burns Marvin, in white with grey scratchplates. I was up the Charing Cross Road recently, so had the opportunity to pop in and view it. The condition is Mint AAA!

This was the first time I have seen the grey version of the scratchplates and I thought that they looked impressive. I believe that there are less than 500 original Marvins still around; I wonder how many had the grey plates? I presume they were only available to go with the white finish?

Kindest regards'

Christopher

I've only ever seen one, which a friend of mine bought s/h in 1972 from a private seller in London. He in turn sold it on about thirty years ago.

Hi Christopher

I saw this Marvin in the window of Macari's in Charing Cross Road as well. The grey scratch plates do look very nice. It's a beauty, but at £4999 it's bit out of my price range!

All the best
John

I have seen it . A lovely guitar but with respects , Simply not worth 5 grand . Only an avid collector who most probably wont even play a guitar will buy this . Shame . Take care . Ron
