Hi everyone, I really need some advice regarding effects units. Sometime ago I purchased a more or less new Yamaha Magicstomp
with the intention of purchasing EFTP from Charlie Hall, only to find he had stopped doing them.
I understand Ross Hall does the Halls Echo patches but only for Zoom pedals. Does anyone know if Ross's patches can be downloaded to
the latest version of the G5 which appears to be the: G5N. I've looked on Ross's site but there doesn't seem to be any contact details.
I would prefer to obtain patches for the Magicstomp if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Mike

You would be better using Charlie Halls site and asking for help. I believe Ross Hall does patches for the Zoom G3 and G5

Hi Michael, you could try rossathallsecho.com ( replacing at with @ ).
Cheers, Alan.

Hi
You will have to find patches for the magicstomp privately.
The EFTP for this unit was great, and so is the unit.
There are alternative suppliers of patches for the magicstomp, Geoff Strachan of Shadowsland use to do some really good ones, otherwise try this one:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/sis.html?_it ... 4096.l9146Ross Halls patches are very good, they will work with Zoom G3-G3X - and G5
BUT NOT with the new the G5 N, software is different
regards
Niels

Hi Mike,
The EFTP patches "belong" to Charlie. He created them and he's not selling them anymore because he's been ripped-off too many times.
However, the problem for Charlie is that the MagicStomp is completely programmable so, legally and morally, there is nothing to stop you entering the settings yourself. As long as you don't call them EFTP or try to sell them as such you are doing nothing wrong.
But before you start hunting for someone who will tell you what the settings are I suggest you take a look at the Echotappers patches, which are freely available.
I have both EFTP and Echotappers and IMHO in most cases the Echotappers are better.
Regards,
DaveC.

The Echotapper site from which you could download echotapper patches is now closed. I dont know if there is still some possibilities to get them.

Following Didier post:-
I use the Etap2 Engineer VST plugin. Seems one cannot get this now. The web page that comes up in place of echotapper is difficult to read /translate. Web Hosting?
I have the VST so I suppose if anyone wants it we will have to retain it and provide for others if requested.
I use the VST patches as a basis for setting up my G3.

If you are a Facebook user there is a group called Yamaha Magicstomp collective and the jpatches are in the Files section of that group along with many other useful files, manuals etc.
I will also post all the files (jpatches for Magicstomp and Quadraverbs etc) that I have on the Facebook eTap page later today and put a link on this thread.
I have spoken to Piet Verbruggen, the developer, and he is happy to have these public domain files available in this way.
