Does anyone have a suggestion for a simple computer software for recording guitar instrumentals
onto backing tracks. I have never done this before and just know the basics of computer, eg
internet, emails. Downloading music from Jeff Daniels is the most adventurous thing I've attempted
so it needs to be the simplest possible method. I would be really grateful for any suggestions. I
know some members are experts at this sort of thing, but I am a bit thick at it but would like to give it a go
before I shuffle off.

Start with Audacity, it's free. It will do a lot of what expensive software can do and you can learn how to use it as you go along. There's a very good 'How to' manual in the online help.

Good luck,

Len

Yep - as another recording dunce I was amazed at what I did with Audacity. Took my guitar lead-in through an HCSE and then a Vox AC30 Amplug to the PC. Friends jaws drop - especially on Wondeful Land.

Yep another vote for Audacity, simple to use, must be for me! Regularly load up a backing track and record a lead part.

Thanks a million all of you. So much appreciated.
