Good morning from the Colonies.
My Alesis Q20 has failed, so I'm looking for simple delay for home use only.
Does anyone have experience with the Stanley Blue Nebula that they could share?
Cheers,
JB

Yes I bought one secondhand a while back, great pedal, did a little demo of it here https://youtu.be/_VtXcXtq6E4

The other alternative is of course the Hall & Collins Signature Echo, but it is more expensive.

Both the Blue Nebula and Baby blue sound as good and are eTap2 devices. The Blue Nebula has memory patches to save presets too the Baby blue does not , but the echos are literally the same , I use the Baby Blue and it is a great pedal at its price point one of the cheapest options.

I’ve got to admit I’ve been really pleased with my Zoom G1Four. Nice unit and reasonably cheap as well.

If your used to play on a Alesis Q20 there can be only one successor a H&CSE ....
Same creator of the programmes.

Hi

I had one of the first Blue Nebula.
However I could not get used to sound being so dry, in my opinion.
This is properly because most of the other programmed echoes has a fairly amount of halo, not to speak of the reverb.
So I sold it on.
Later I read about the version 4, supposed to have mor halo, so I thought I give it a try.
The sound as well as the number of patches were certainly much improved.
Still a found that my other units had a more dynamic sound.
So I ended up with a some editing, adding a bit on the mix and a bit more to the feedback, and now the sound was rigth.
I have to say that that it sounded very authentic, so I still have it and I use it a lot.

One problem I had, was my version 4, who had a terrible constantly noise.
I had to send it back to UK ( and pay for it myself) and I received another new, who was quiet.
The only remaining problem is that some of the patches who are not directly connected with shadows, fx Gilmourish 1 or long slapback, and a few more, give a
rather high click, really a noise in the speaker, you don.t want to hear at a live performance.
So I try to avoid these, sad, because the Gilmourish sound is incredible nice for slow ballad tunes.

So live I, like many others, for live work, I use my zoom G3 og G5, with Halls echo.
I would thing that if you look further into these programs, they are made by the famous CH, and not very far apart from the Alesis Q2.

I have been in contact with Niels and we, the Blue Nebula development team, have managed to hunt down the "click" he was hearing on patch change. It turned out to be a problem with the Spin FV-1 when reading one of the two eeproms where we store the emulations in Blue Nebula. At the same time we fixed a small problem when storing a changed patch. These improvements will be included in the upcoming Version 5 release shortly, where I think users will be delighted with the improvement in sounds over Version 4.
Blue Nebula and Blue Baby keep being referred to by some members as Etap2hw systems but the truth is they have moved on dramatically from Piet's original that we first built back in 2013. There are many hundreds of team hours that have been spent on getting to this new, more sophisticated level. For information, the digital signal processor used is exactly the same as in H&C and our use of it predates that echo system.
