I had the same thread problem too on the Jap Hank Marvin . Replaced with a Wilkinson Vintage
Trem system complete with the steel block. They are relatively inexpensive work well and stop
the dreaded thread wear wobble !!
Not ever heard of a massive sustain block though.

It's not just size that matters, it's the material it's made from, and I'll give another vote for the Wilkinson bridge. It has a decent sized steel bridge and a push in tremolo arm. I fitted one to my Classic Vibe and it's excellent - and it won't break the bank.

Don't worry about buying a massive sustain block, I've got Massive and not Massive and there's no audible difference. I have the Wilkinson too and they are just as good. :)
