G3X - Earth Loop issue using USB with direct connections

I have tended to connect my G3X to the laptop (on Battery) for using the Edit and Share because if I connect it to the same PC where I connect the audio to I tend to get noise issues.
These are probably earth loop.

I have purchased a USB isolator - from ebay.
On connecting the USB and Audio to the one PC - looks to be ok now.

I haven't experienced this so far but there's time.
I have myself purchased the latest Zoom G3Xn to have a look at as well as the older G1Xon that looks promising.
I await their arrival and look forward to having a dabble. ;)

Hi Dave,

I would urge you to have a look at the Zoom G1Four series. IMHO, a significant step from the G1on series, but still affordable.
Can I also suggest the ToneLib Zoom editor program, it makes setting up patches so much easier. It’s compatible with the current range of Zoom pedals. Just scroll down to ToneLib Zoom in the following link.

Just an update on the USB Isolator.

I have now checked that the isolator stops PC noise when using the PC-DAW and amps.

With regard to Tonelib - I don't think its available for the G3X.

If I see one at a favourable price I'll buy it and have a look at it.
At the moment I'm impressed with the newer G3Xn as it's an improvement on the G3X, as well as awaiting a G1Xon.
