Hi Johann, I have just taken delivery of No 9 of 10 JMI 50th, I have not tried it with a high volume as yet, but the tone using brilliant channel and top-boost is much better than my Vox AC15 Heritage combo. Dave R is coming down to 'The Hankies' next Tuesday to give it a blast !!, I'm sure he will give his honest account of it, good or bad, there will also be a AC30 H2L Ltd Edition Heritage there to compare it with. Regards Keith

Blimey I thought the new Vox Handwired range were not out in the shops yet ! I like the sound of the new top boost channel having a hot/ cool switch to get a bit more overdrive .. maybe it will sound much like a ef86 stage when the bass/treble controls are set to off ? Anyways next Tuesday looks interesting Keith and looking forwards to hearing the new JMI amp ! :)

Interesting to see that the new Vox hand wired amps have no EF86 channel... great shame... essential for authentic early Shads tone...

I tried an experiment with my Heritage on the Top Boost Channel and turned the bass and treble to zero and with the amp turned up a fraction more it was not too far away from the sound of the ef86 albeit a tad more bottom end which could be EQ'd out anyways. That's why I wondered if the new Boost switch which drives the 12AX7's harder might in effect match the ef86 ... would not know till I tried one, but I do like my Heritage !

The pictures on the website at Vox show the tag boards and layouts which are a bit like the Heritage to my memory. Wonder if Vox have moved the fuses for better accessibility and changed the voltages like Amanda suggested ?

I have had my Heritage 18 months now and apart from changing the valves its been reliable oh and a brass screw snapped on the back wooden panel.... cannot find a replacement screw anywhere even Vox do not supply them... Bu**er

Listen, they can bring as many new amps out as they like - I'm sticking with what I've got 'cos they sound right ! 8-)
