Roland RE 301 Tape loops

Posted: 08 Oct 2010, 11:03From my experience of using a couple of Roland Space Echo machines back in the eighties, only the genuine Roland tape loops have the correct bias - I tried making my own with all the best available tape of the day, but they were 'weak' sounding, so you need to buy the genuine part Keith. The are often for sale on Ebay.

One more option for Roland tape loops. On Roger Allcocks site, Vintage Sounds there is a link to Tapeloops and Echo Machines. Loads and loads of info on Roland tapes at what look like very reasonable prices.

Posted: 10 Oct 2010, 11:59As long as you give the heads and transport as well as the little pad a clean every now and again, those tapes should last months.
