Very funny Jim. He's 'avin a larf isn't he ? Upgraded the body & put a Bigsby on it with no damage ! Put Kinmans in it ! And ..... then describes it as a '62 Reissue Strat ! The bits he left behind may be a Reissue Strat. How much does he want for them ? You're winding us up aren't you Jim ...... now come on, 'fess up to it ?

Tony.

I very much doubt if it's a '62 reissue strat, there is so much not right, particularly the neckplate which should have a Vxxxxx serial number. :?

Back in the days before the Vintage Reissue series, when a new Strat came with the CBS large headstock with the bullet truss-rod adjuster and the neck like half a sapling covered with toffee, Cliff Richard had a white pre-CBS Strat to which had been fitted a short Bigsby rather like the one on the eBay. There's a picture of him with it in Otto Kasper's book...

PS: The guitar on eBay clearly isn't a Vintage Reissue. The neck's all wrong for a start. The VR series have headstocks that are just like Strats had in the 1950s or 1960s as the case may be.

Jim

The pictures in the Kaspar book don't show the headstock, and I have it in the back of my mind that this particular guitar was a Strat copy rather that a Fender, though I cannot find the photographic evidence at the moment. It's had some switching mods too if you look closely.

Cliff was photographed with a bog-standard White 70s Strat for the cover of Rock 'n' roll juvenile.

The frets are wrong as well,
IT'S HORRIBLE.
