I know. This is definitely not Shads related!!

Before I put it on EBay I thought I would see if anyone here is interested. I have a beautiful Gibson Tal Farlow jazz guitar which I have decided, very reluctantly, to let go. It is dated 2000, I believe and is in excellent condition complete with its original Gibson hard case. I am looking for £1950 and have seen examples in similar condition fetching in excess of £2000. If I get this right there should be a photo attached. If anyone wants more info and more pictures just let me know.

No, Jim. You know another quality jazz guitar makes sense, particularly a relatively rare item such as this.

I kept trying to upload the pictures but I am obviously doing something wrong. Any tips?

I can see why you'd like it a lot, Ecca. However, the wine red finish on a Gibson isn't for me, and I say that as a great lover of Gibsons who owns six of them.

Brian: I know this will be a great guitar. I have taken the liberty of posting a link to this thread on the Usenet newsgroup rec.music.makers.guitar.jazz

Many thanks, Jim. On some Gibson's I agree, but I have to say on this one it works particularly well.. The photos don't reflect the full depth of the "flame" in the wood. One of my other Gibson's is a similar Cherry / wine red - an ES355 with gold fittings and the maestro trem - a stunning looking instrument which I am playing here http://www.ccrc.co.uk/ccrc/gallery/Images/EV213N9.jpg taken last November.

Ah, what does it matter about the colour anyway?

It's only a Gibson....
