Also, a complete shortage of gigs over here at present means there's not much spare pocket money either...if I could score three or four gigs I could afford that 12, but I'm also too scared to buy off the net...I have to be able to try a guitar before buying.

At least that one on e-Bay doesn't have a de-tuner fitted...

I actually bought a later model of that 12 string Framus acoustic a few years ago for about $90, I was going to remove the neck and put it on a solid body-never got round to it I'm afraid.

Sad to inform that Stan Francis Luthier passed away aged 91 on 27/12/2017, i am Stans son in law, my name is Jeff Atkinson i married his daughter Pam, We will be looking after Stans instuments and archives, if anyone requires info on any of his instruments email at pamandjef@aol.com

That is sad news.

Stan was particularly famous for his custom-made 12-string jumbos (ordered by Tom Springfield, Pete Seeger and many others), but he also made a range of six-string instruments. One of those was wielded by my ex-bandmate Paddy Kelly up in Liverpool in the 1970s.

RIP, Stan.
