2 questions.

Does anyone know how much the asking price is.

And,

Any comments on how this guitar compares to a 56 NOS with AA birdseye neck and 50's pickups.

Thanks. ;)

Yes i do.They sold one in January to someone who had one already for £8000
They are going for more second hand now.
This one is mint boxed and unplayed and the price is over £5000
You will need to ring them for more specific details.

Sorry. but anyone who pays £8000 for a guitar that cost an over inflated £5000 when new a year ago needs their head looked. I spoke to Howard when these guitars were on sale and considered buying one after getting caught up in the hype, like 50 other people. Then I sat down and took a deep breath. I kept my £5000. I am not knocking Howard, but the impression I got was that the price was pushed up because of Hank and Bruce. These were nice guitars, but you can get a masterbuilt Strat to the same specs for much less than £8000 and much much less than £5000. I have owned 7 or 8 MB Strats over the years. Builders included John English, Yuri, Todd Krause. Great guitars. The most expensive was the Todd EC which cost £3000. Incredible guitar. I reckon three of them would have cost me £8000 in total. They are all since gone. My favourite guitar now is a bitsocaster, total cost £500. It plays well, sounds great and you dfon't have to worry about denting, scratching or dropping it.
It would be interesting to know how many of the people who bought these 59th guitars, and more than a few of them are on this forum, actually play them on a day to day basis either at home or in gigs. And how many of them have them hanging on the wall.
It is also interesting to note that these guitars are coming onto the market via Oasis. Was these a buyback clause to maintain the price?

I entirely agree.

The whole business of a Masterbuilt Strat is ridiculous.

They were designed by Leo Fender to be built on an assembly line
All that's required is a screwdriver.
