I'm pretty sure this was taken in 1990.
I am fairly sure it was a Pearl DX kit, bought second hand in 1987. It was initially a 7-piece kit. I bought another black bass drum off a friend (note that it didn't match!) and took a couple of the toms off. Also bought a very big Heavy Rock snare. I added a few cymbals over the years (all Zyldjian of course!). I loved the kit and recorded with it a couple of times and played live many times! Lovely sound - even with me playing it! Part exchanged it in about 1995 for a slightly inferior kit, but had little choice as the Pearl was beginning to fall apart! Now I'm the one that's falling apart! Ahhh, those were the days...
