suggestions for a compact drum kit

I'm on uncharted waters here, being a guitarist. Dave, the drummer in our band, has tried to obtain a compact drum kit - with cases, made by Sakae. As Sakae seem to have sadly gone out of business, and what I think is called a D pack is hard to find, I thought I might find some advice from Shadow Music members, to pass on to him. Any ideas, please? :geek:

For a compact drum kit, would Dave consider electronic? For travel, it could be just three items - the frame, a bag or case with the pads, controller and stool, and an amplifier. On stage that becomes snare, BD, three toms, HH, crash and ride - a standard kit. There are timesavers for the setup, like prewiring the frame with the cables (colourcoded) to match colour coding on the pads. Worth a thought.

Thanks, Ray, I will suggest it to him; although I think he has sourced a kit by Premier - has to wait until February for it though! :geek:
