Now, this is REALLY sad!
I hadn't heard about this, so thanks, Phil, for mentioning it on here.
Another of the all-time greats has passed-on, but during his lifetime Joe was an inspiration to anyone with an interest in Drumming - and still playing far better than I EVER will almost to the end.
Rest in Peace, Joe, and thanks for a long and impressive body of work.
Regards
Paul

Very sad news. Dave is now the only one of the 'famous' quartet still with us.

Playing the "Time Out" album as I type.

RIP Joe.

JN

PS: Later, I'll play "Southern Scene" - especially Little Rock Getaway.

Echoing Paul's thoughts, Joe was a master at his trade.
Take Five was the first jazz piece I ever heard and the drum solo always intrigued me.
Thankfully we can continue enjoying his skills on YouTube
RIP Joe a true great.

Very sad news indeed. In my opinion the man was a master craftsman. In recently bought the album entitled, 'Time Out', as my vinyl copy had long seen better days. For anyone here who knows the album, just play the first track entitled, 'The lost Waltz'; for me it's simply a master class in jazz drumming.

Rest in Peace Mr Morello. Best Wishes to all. Richard Cooke-Jarlø.
