Just wondered If you bass players out there had an opinion on a good bass tuning devise, I have been using a ET-68GB TUNER and it's too finicky for me so I am looking out for a replacement, and I am not good enought to tune by ear ( probably years of exposure to loud music making me a bit deaf ) any opinions out there?

Suggest the Burns BT-200C clip on type, available from Burns (Barry Gibson).
Like most low/medium budget bass tuners my experience is they don't like the E string and need a bit of persuasion to react to E, but the Burns responds well.
For those with a huge budget the TC Electronic bass amps have a mute and very responsive tuner, one for the wish list !

Hi
Try The snark Clip on tuner, never had any problems with mine
quite cheap ,you can leave it on the headstock whilst playing, easy to read on dark stages.
picks up low E string without any problem.

Try tuning to the 12th fret harmonic (1 octave up) or the 5th fret harmonic (2 octaves up) instead of the open string.
