...yeah, that's the trouble when you get to be over 80yrs... That guitar has a distinct sound and he can really play! Quite Les Paulish style.

I am sad to hear that. The videos of him playing remind me of when I was a kid, carefully observing his guitar and his sound on b&w TV.

What a shame. A fine clean and accurate player. Pretty hot on the Fender bass VI as well.There are many videos of him playing with the Lawrence Welk orchestra and duetting with Buddy Merrill.

RIP Neil- a great player...as was his fellow performer Buddy Merrill..

As far as I am aware, the Lawrence Welk Show wasn't shown in the UK or Australia back in those days- or maybe we would have all had a guitar hero before Hank and would have wanted other Fenders, as Neil and Buddy also used Strats, Jaguars, Bass VI etc as well as Jazzmasters..
