Just been watching one of the American Pawn Stars programme i recorded over christmas
a guy walked into the pawn shop with a 1961 fender stratocaster in olympic white.
He had all the paperwork and info on the records it had appeared on.
Turns out the Guy was non other than Vic Flick.
He wanted 75.000 dollars , but came down to 55,000 Dollars and sold it.

Vic has told the story that the original Strat he had was accidentally left on the kerbside
when a bunch of yobbos were hassling him when putting his gear into his car.
This Strat on Pawn Stars would have been the insurance replacement model he got in 1962.
On a You Tube interview, he confirms he played on Silhouettes by Hermans Hermits and most
likely its Bside Cant You Hear My Heartbeat, which has a definite Buddy Holly type Strat tone
on the solos on both sides of the disc.

I was first attracted to the Pawn Stars programme (on the History Channel) by mention on the web of the shop having having bought Mary Ford's 1961 Gibson Les Paul / SG Custom from her family.

I think the Vic Flick episode was screened about two years ago (on History), but there have been lots of guitars brought in for valuation and sale over the last few years (not all of them meant seriously, in my opinion).
