The legendary lead guitarist of The Spotnicks and one of the giants in the guitar instrumental world has passed away last night 80 years old. Bo was one of the founders of the band which started in 1961.
The last concert with Bo Winberg and The Spotnicks was in March 30 2019.

RIP Bo

Sad news, the Spotnicks with Bo have been my preferred band after the Shadows, I saw them twice on stage when they came in Dombasle (France) in 2006 and 2008.

Although I am a massive Shadows fan, I was a huge fan of the Spotnicks too. As a young boy (!!!) I bought all of their Oriole UK singles back in the day. Latterly, I have accumulated many, many Spotnicks CDs. So, yes, just loved Bo Winberg....what a player!!! I was thrilled to be able to speak to him (albeit briefly) at the London Palladium Event set up by Hans Edler in 2003. What a lovely, lovely, modest and charming man he was - but what a great guitarist too. Thank you for the music and the memories Bo. RIP....Rob
