RIP Gerry,

Nobody sings YNWA better ...and the way It should be, with a fat Liverpool/Mersey accent.
YNWA alone is and will be the anthem of Liverpool and Liverpool FC forever!
Without the lockdown and covid, I could imagine a grand farewell at Anfield...
Thanks for the music Gerry RIP

Had a trip on the Mersey at Liverpool a few years ago and the song inevitably enters your head as you float along...

In The Secrets recording of All Quiet On The Mersey Front (a tune George Martin wrote for the film Ferry Cross The Mersey which starred Gerry), Jim Nugent (well known in these parts) adds a poignant coda using the "Life goes on day after day" line from Gerry's song.

Saw his concert in Brighton circa 1963/64 - he topped the bill - Jimmy Tarbuck was the compere.

He seemed such a little guy behind that big Gretch - but big voice and a big smile.

RIP
Christopher

Will miss Gerry and his music so much. Grew up on Merseyside, and caught the Ferry to Liverpool to work.

Gone but never forgotten. YNWA>
