Alan was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen's Birthday Honours in June, for his services to music, composing and in recognition of The Alan Hawkshaw Foundation.

Excellant news - a talented musician. I always enjoyed his contribution to The Shadows - without checking my files, I believe he contributed "New Earth" on Hank's Guitar Syndicate LP? (and too much more to list here).

Yes, New Earth (parts I and II) is Alan's. This tune was sampled by rapper Jay-Z for one of his songs.
