I'm on the loose...

Hi all!

After a couple of months playing lead guitar for a rock group (AC/DC and all that...) I'm back in the market to start playing Shads (and other music again). Sadly, my rhythm guitar playing days have been brought to a close by arthritis in my left hand - protracted bar chords are now impossible, but my lead playing is largely unaffected at the moment...

Any chance of a well paid world tour?

Perhaps we'll see you soon at the Billabong (SMSE)?

It was weird telling an Australian (Rod Cronin, of Perth) how to get to a place of that name, but he'll be at SMSE's next meet (next Monday, 12th October).

Best wishes,

JimN

Hi David,
Sorry to hear about the arthritis preventing you doing "rhythm".
We're (That's "Life Story" - the von Creasey's Shadows-style Band) still a bit stuck for a rhythm player for a gig we're doing in Middle Rasen on 5 December. Our regular rhythmist - that's Dave, my younger Son - is already booked for a night of debauchery in Doncaster at his GF's works "do" that night, but we'd like to do the gig as it's the 70th Birthday bash for a Shadows fan.
If all else fails, we'll do it as a four-piece with my Niece, Lottie, doing overtime on keyboards...................but, it would have been GREAT to have a guitarist of your stature (in the nicest sense!) depping for Dave!
Best regards, and I trust you'll find a suitable playing slot soon!
Paul

P.S. It was a trip to Whitby Pavilion a few years back, to see "Legend" do a WONDERFUL (free, too!!) afternoon set, that got me back into bashing the tubs in a Shadows-style Band - Thanks!!

Drop me a set list and I'll check it out... bar chords are very painful... :(
