Well, yeah! A belated Happy Birthday! (It's not off-topic - They were influenced just like everybody else). They became a great band too.

It's not a problem. It was a minor misposting which I moved to its proper home. Nothing has been changed and site conventions have been followed.

I don't think it was Jimmy Page on guitar. Back in the 60s my then mate Clive Chase played bass with Bobby King and the Sabres mainly around the Catford area. Their lead guitarist a guy name Fred worked at Kasner music publishers in Tin Pan Alley. These were the Kinks music publishers. He was at the Kinks recording and Clive tells me he worked with Dave Davies on creating that solo. Certainly Bobby King and the Sabres were playing it note perfect before the release by the Kinks.
Incidentally Fred played a telecaster.
Guess this story could go on a lot. Page denies playing on it Ray says it was Dave. Make your own mind up

Hi Iain
I understand the reason for focussing attention to particular areas of the site. The problem is unless you post in General or Guitars and amps I feel there are not many observers. In the past I have posted in Burns guitars then a week later posted a similar thing in General and had loads more response. I am no expert but perhaps the classifications may need an update - especially for new members.
Often General and Guitars and amps wander completely off the original topic and seem to get hijacked.. Perhaps general should be lower down the listing as in an agenda like any other business.
This is meant to be a constructive criticism and not anti site. As a marketing guy I think we need to regularly look at ourselves
There is no offence meant to anybody on this site
Perhaps I should have posted this elsewhere
