I remember watching Star Trek for the first time in the late 1960s, either 1969 or 1970. I was immediately captivated by this incredible series and great characters - not least of all Mr Spock. He was probably the first 'alien' to appear as a main and positive character in a primetime TV show. Can't think of any before that. Much, if not all, of the credit must go to Leonard Nimoy.

Very sad to hear of his passing.
