WARNING - new variation on 'Microsoft Support' scam

Like many of us, I regularly receive calls from someone with an Indian accent saying they're from 'Microsoft Support' or 'Windows Technical Department.' As soon as I hear this I know it's a scam and they want to do nasty things to my computer so, depending on my mood, I either hang up or string them along until they get fed up.
Today I experienced something slightly different. I received a call from an unrecognisable number and a man with the usual Indian accent said he was from the 'BTInternet Technical Desk.' No mention of 'Microsoft Support' or 'Windows Technical Department.' Now it so happens that my ISP is BTInternet but, being highly suspicious, I thought I'd test him and I said, 'Why are BTInternet ringing me when my Broadband and Internet are with Sky?' to which he replied, 'Because BTinternet is the global platform for internet provided by Sky so you might think your getting it from Sky but you're actually getting it from us.' A load of rubbish, of course, and I knew it was the same old scam, particularly when he carried on with the usual spiel about them receiving error messages from my computer. I let him continue for a while but when he got to the usual question about whether my computer was switched on I said it was away being repaired. At that point he hung up.
It looks as if these people have now realised that we are getting wise to 'Microsoft Support' and 'Windows Technical Department' and they're now pretending to be from specific ISPs. So, be warned, partiularly if you're with BT Internet!
Persistent beggars aren't they!
