I once read that Bobby's early backing group was called The Shadows(!)...and apparently included Bob Zimmerman (Dylan) on piano at a few gigs...they lived in the same area and knew each other quite well..

Indeed, legend has it that was the name chosen on the spot for the group he had organised to help fill in for the scheduled Buddy Holly appearance, on that fateful day, in Minnesota.

Slightly off topic, but continuing the 'other' Shadows theme, this is the extraordinary 1958 UK one-off single release by the Los Angeles half-brother duo, the Carlos Brothers (Jimmy Carlos & Pete Antoniano), featuring the bizarre Jungle Fever b/w with the more conventional doo-wop offering Under Stars Of Love...
