Well, there has to be a first time for everything...

Just heard a bloke - probably about 25-30 - say into his phone...

"Gonna go and get something to eat in a minute 'cos I'm bl**dy Hank Marvin!!!"

I wonder if he actually knows who Hank Marvin is? I won't bother to enlighten him as he might get the wrong idea.

As I say, never actually heard anyone say that before in 'real life'. I can die happy now.

I still can't quite believe that someone successfully pitched the recent TV advert for Mattessons purely based on the knowledge that a. "Hank Marvin" is slang for "starving" and b. that people are still really familiar with the 'glasses and red Fender' image of HBM.

My 19 year old cousin has never heard of Hank Marvin, or the Shadows but she has heard of Cliff but doesn't listen to him
