Just a message to anyone in the Banbury area to folks who may want to come and see us in concert.
Past Masters will be presenting 'LET'S ROCK THE JUKEBOX' at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury on Sunday July 16.
Our music is 50s & 60s based and we feature material from The Shadows through to The Four Seasons and everything in between. I mention it here because people continually ask why we don't move further afield away from South Yorks, so this is aimed at people in the vicinity of Oxfordshire who know us and would like the opportunity to see the show. Anyone coming, please make yourselves known on the night, we enjoy meeting our audiences.:)

Just over a fortnight to go and tickets are doing OK for us considering we're unknown down there, just over a half full with over two weeks to go.
Thanks to those of you on here who will be there, be sure to come and say hello at the end, we'll be around for a chat.
Apart from the Cliff & Shads stuff, we cover all the good stuff from our era including The Everlys, Beatles, Billy Fury, even Acker Bilk, Chuck Berry and many more and our guest vocalist Stan Fuller does all the Four Seasons, Beach Boys, Bee Gees, Rubettes and a bit of Orbison, all ably backed vocally by the lads. Originally from North London, Stan was bassist and high voice in the band 'Magic' back in the 70s through to the 90s and his voice is amazing. I re-acqauinted myself with Stan by accident as he was at my agent's funeral (John Bridges from Dukeries) who passed away up in the North East, which was a quirk of fate as that's where Stan had re-located himself for twenty years as a pub landlord. John was from Mansfield but died up in the North East amongst family there, hence the funeral at Bishop Auckland last year. So there you have it, a 1000,000 /1 chance meeting with a guy I knew thirty odd years ago and we gain a new band member who happens to be a singing sensation. Stan needed a band like us and reckons that our meeting was fate, a parting gift for both of us from John. I'm working on moving further around the country if we can pull in enough people, already earmarked theatres as far away as Exmouth, Southend, Whitley Bay, South West Scotland, exciting times eh ? :)

It's a case of taking a chance Iain', maybe next year we'll go for it. As you will appreciate it isn't easy for unknown bands to pull a crowd, we're OK once people have seen us because they tell their friends and come again, which is how we're building up a following. Also we're competing with 'name bands' that aren't really - a group can buy a name eg The Dreamers or Edison Lighthouse or Amen Corner, there are hundreds of them and there isn't one original member of any of those involved, but the name pulls in the punters we've been offered that route (Christie) by an agent but I won't hear of it, it would be embarrassing, apart from the fact that we have respect for the original bands.. By trying to do it honestly and rely on our own talent, bands like ourselves make it hard work, totally relying on people enjoying the gig and passing the word. It's a labour of love and many fall by the wayside, but luckily we have nothing else to do. :)
