A "proper" album?

Difficult to say. It's certainly not available from Amazon, but there are a few references on the web to it. It does look like a CD rather than a download-only item.

See, for instance: https://zokyat.wordpress.com/2015/06/01/crime-jazz-brian-bennett-in-action/

Madrid, for those who don't know, is not the Les Reed composition used as the B-side of Spanish Armada, but is a composition by John Rostill, released by Brian's group "Collage" on the Columbia Studio 2 Stereo LP "Misty" in 1973 (while John was still with us).

One or two other tracks from "Misty" are included in the "Crime Jazz - Volume 10" compilation.

No, this is no 'proper' album. It is a compilation put together by a blogspotter with no physical existence. See the Details at:

http://thecrimelounge2.blogspot.de/2007 ... me-10.html

The site seems to offer a download, but as it is quite some years old the links seems not to work.

Hope this helps.

It worked OK for me. The recordings downloaded as a *.rar file (easily unpacked).

Ta.

Yeah, by 'proper' I did, of course, mean a physical product (CD) and not just some kind of internet 'playlist compilation' type thing that had been given an illustration. If it was an 'authorised' release on CD then it might have been worth checking. I've got the 'collage' album on CD and vinyl but the title of the track, for some reason, didn't click. There's so much of his library stuff available for nothing on youtube now, that I wouldn't necessarily download any of it. But a CD or LP is always nice to have.

The Crime Lounge does look like a good site and they appear to have a pretty comprehensive catalogue of music. I am assuming that you can download the music and CD artwork for free? In which case, not bad. Still, it's almost as easy just to create your own using youtube or whatever. Still, nice to see Brian given his own 'CD' which acknowledges and helps to perpetuate his genius as a music to picture composer.

P.S. 'Glass Tubes' was apparently used by DRAKE (absolutely no relation!) as the outro to 'Summer 16'.

The 'cover'.
