Just visited this site..
There is a poll currently being taken to vote whether to keep the site going or close it down..
IMHO, it would be sad to see it close, although the forum has been fairly quiet for some time ...
If you are a Ventures fan, or indeed a fan of guitar instrumental music, it may be worth voting to keep it open if possible..before 30/8/18..
I see it as a sort of USA/ Ventures version of this site and I'm sure if the position was reversed (heaven forbid!) I would certainly vote to keep Shadowmusic open!
Thanks all!

Will sign up John, Love the Ventures, Ian McCutcheon does some great
versions of their numbers and I have a few DVDs and CDs. We do need to keep
Guitar instrumental music alive and support anything that helps do that.
Thanks for the nod.
re please help the ventures site

Just signed up. The site looks good, however, they need
] 44 more signatures on the keep it open poll
As many of us Shadows fans also appreciate the Ventures,
let's give them give them a bit of help and support, sign up and vote
before the 3oth August

Just a brief additional note:
That was August 2018. It is now October 2022 and the Ventures' site (discussion board, rather like this one) is still there!

I have a slightly different view of this in that numbers in themselves are unlikely to turn it around, there may be people who are members of particular websites, but miss article that they would engage in because it’s not one they are members of.
Much of “our” music and the peripheral interest are a generational/nostalgia thing. Perhaps rather than keeping one particular website going, but it still continuing to decline, the answer may be to come to some arrangement where overlapping sites and ones with a similar interest combine?
Regards
Gary

Great idea Gary. You are spot on. We could all be missing out on interesting articles.
