It is with great sadness that I have to report that I have just heard that an old friend Trevor Lyon has passed away.
It was Trevor who helped me get into Shadow music in the first place in 1999 and he helped me a lot back then. He got me over to the Shaddicts club in Manchester where I met Warren Bennett and he suggested I go to the Warwick club where I met Alan Jones and David Martin along with many more nice people who became friends.
To say that Trevor helped me would be an understatement, through his initial help and his invitation to play at The Shaddicts first ever Christmas gathering at Flixton, I was subsequently invited all over Europe and ended up in Warren Bennet's band The Vibratos and playing along side Brian Bennett, Mark Griffiths and Dick Plant.
May you rest in peace Trevor and thank you for everything you did for me.

This is indeed very sad news...

I first met Trevor at Shadowmania where I discovered that we both had the same HBM Signature guitar. We played together in many Shadows music clubs, not to mention the Friday Night Social at Shadowmania. We visited him several times at his home. He was great company and a good guitar player. When I reamarried following my divorce, Trevor was my best man. We lost touch after his relationship with Katy ended, but re-established it just last Christmas. He told me that he was ill, but clearly not the severity of it.

The world is a little poorer without Trevor, and so is the Shadows community.

Rest in Peace, Trevor.

I hadn't seen Trevor since 2005 at Birmingham at the last Shads Final Tour' gig or was it 2007 when I last did Shadowmania?
Those times were great but after Trevor and Katie split up we seemed to lose touch.
One thing is for sure, the memories will never die.

Very sad to read this. Got a nice letter from him at Christmas where he briefly discussed his illness and that he was looking to move home again. RIP Trev.

Trevor Lyon 1945-2020
We have received some sad news today. Our friend Trevor passed away on Sunday, a couple of weeks before his 75th birthday. Trevor was one of the co-founders of the original North West Shadows Music Club (“Shaddicts”) at Flixton in 2000 He was a very good friend of mine but we had lost touch over the last 2 years. We formed the 3 Counties Shadows Music Club together and regularly used to travel to the South Wales Shadows Club as well. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
