I watched it. Quite enjoyed it although, as stated above, it seemed to be slightly out of sync. I switched my freeview box on and off a couple of times and it seemed to make it a bit better - although that may have been my imagination. The humour was only mildly funny, although I did keep saying to myself 'I bet this was quite funny in 1965.' Some of the Cliff/Shads bits I'd already seen... some I hadn't. All good stuff. Nice to see that they were given quite a lot of time.

Jimmy Tarbuck's gags were very topical for late 1965.

There was a bakery strike going on and the Rhodesia crisis was just coming to the boil. A week earlier (and this also seemed to form the bulk of Charlie Drake's act), Kenneth Tynan, film critic of the Observer and a National Theatre administrator, had managed to say the word "fuck" on BBC television. The programme was called "BBC3", which also got a mention in Tarbuck's patter.

Hansard (I kid you not) re the bakers' strike: https://api.parliament.uk/historic-hansard/commons/1965/nov/25/bakery-industry-dispute

As I recall it, Tynan was coyly reported in the papers as having used “a word” on TV. Should that be the style on this site, do you think? ;)

Better than we get on Facebook and similar social media where such words are used to add emphasis - or to illustrate the poster's small vocabulary.

You make that sound like a bad thing!
