Wavepad Audio editor - alternative to Audacity

A friend of mine sent me an article which indicated that Wavepad from NCH software was a reasonable alternative to Audacity.
Seems this came about because the person like so many others is now wary of Audacity and possible spyware in it.( I know the Audacity situation has been covered on this site.)

I have used NCH software before and I found it a nightmare to remove. I think it brought in adverts?

Has anyone used Wavepad?

I have been using NCH for years and have never had any problems with it.

I use two of its products, WavePad and MixPad. WavePad is for recording, editing and processing any audio files: you can add all the usual effects. MixPad allows you to work multitrack, good if you’re building up a mix of (say) drums, then bass, then rhythm then lead plus vocals if you wish…

I started with the free trial version but swiftly bought the Master’s Edition of each and use both several times a week.

I work on a Mac. There are Windows versions too if you’re on a PC.

Hope this helps - Iain

Thanks Ian.
The last time I used NCH stuff was when one had XP running.
My friend/colleague is a Windows person - he ran some checks and found the programs clean.
All sorted then !!!
