If you're thinking of getting Cliff's new Christmas album, now would be a good time as he's in the running for a number 1 album.

Cliff's album is number 1 on the physical sales chart, whereas Stormzy's is number 1 on the combined physical and download chart. So what does this tell us? Well, Cliff got to Number 1 on physical sales alone, whereas Stormzy only got to the top by combining physical and download sales. So this must mean that he sold far less physical copies of his album as did Cliff, or he'd be top of both charts. Personally, this being the case, I think there ought to be entirely separate physical and download charts. One should have no bearing on the other. So, a Number 1 is a Number 1 and Congratulations to Cliff on yet another Number 1 Album.

Yes it does seem strange combining downloads, streaming and physical sales.

Perhaps the people who bought a physical album played it a lot more - but that doesn't count, just the fact they bought it.

So to top one of the charts is a great achievement.

Cliff also sometimes tops the vinyl singles chart.
