In the early days of ShadowMusic there was a thread about meerkats and a real life meerkat who had been named Zaphod was mentioned a few times.

I have followed the life history of this particular animal for most of his 12 years and there are other members of this forum who knew of his existence.

It seems fitting to report within these pages that Zaphod passed away peacefully from old age on 4th March.

Sadly, I never knew him, though I just Googled Zaphod and immediately was offered choices including Zaphod meerkat. I went to this page and was disappointed to learn that his second name wasn't Beeblebrox and he only had one head.
