Joe Frazier - Beauty Amidst Sorrow
Posted: 15 Nov 2011, 22:44Please excuse the poor quality of this photo, which is a cell phone pic of the front page of my local newspaper, the Philadelphia Inquirer. I thought this was one of the most beautiful, touching photos I have ever seen, and I wanted to share it with you.
This is a photo of Heavyweight Boxing Champion Muhammad Ali, paying his respects at the casket of fellow Heavweight Champion, the late Smokin' Joe Frazier. The funeral was held in Philadelphia yesterday (November 14th).
To me, this photo is the epitomy of class, sportsmanship, and religious/cultural tolerance. Also, Mr. Ali is very ill with Parkinson's Disease, and I found it all the more remarkable that he travelled across the country to pay his respects.
