I also struggle with the chromatic run in Zambezi. I also struggle with the basic melody in Foot Tapper. I can fake it at 93% but not at 100% speed. More practice I guess.

If the chromatic run in Zambezi is the 5 note one I think it is, try playing it all on one string with alternate picking (you need to slide a finger up a fret at some point or you run out of fingers!). If you play it on 2 strings, start with an upstroke so you change strings after a down stroke.

Hope that makes sense!

Just cannot seem to master Fandango. I have seen other people play it, but I keep making different mistakes in different places, for no logical reason that I can fathom.

I used to struggle with The Savage and Man of Mystery, but since the invention of digital recording etc, I find I can hear the notes much more clearly than on the old 45rpm discs.

My most recent success has been Big Boy - for years got nowhere - and then it just sort of was there! - kind of a sudden flash of inspiration!

I seem to get no help from tabs? The guys and gals that post vids on youtube are very helpful.

Kindest regards,
Christopher

Hi Roger. Yes it is and what you wrote does make sense. I prefer playing on two strings. My fingers are quite stubby so sometimes difficult doing the run at the 12th fret. I’ve tried playing it on the 3rd string at the 7th fret as the frets are wider there.
Thanks again.
