I wonder if the writer of thos series is a guitar buff?

The main character is named Gibson, her boss is called Burns, there's a journalist called Ned Callan, and the police investigation is named Operation Music Man.

Just wondering...

I haven't seen the programme at all, George, but that sounds like one for UK.music.guitar!

It is a great show but very dark.
Shame they don't play some appropriate music written by the Bennett's

Having been immersed in Nordic Noir for several months, The fall comes as a bit of light relief...

Hmmm... There's only one episode (number 3) on the Skybox version of iPlayer... but I wonder whether I can get the whole thing on the more-thoroughly-internet-based version available via my Blu-Ray player?

JN (who owns just one Blu-Ray disc).

Just spotted another guitar connection in the first episode.

The intruder finds a folder marked "Bacon & Day, Solicitors".

As connections go, that one's up the dustyfretz end...

OK... just finished watching episode 1 on iPlayer.

As George says, the characters include a Jim Burns (well, several of them), a Gibson and a Ned Callan. The police operation is called "Music man" and a firm of solicitors (or even "solictors") by the name of "Bacon & Day" is mentioned.

But the guitar references don't stop there.

An early victim's surname is Kay, but in the first episode, there are also characters by the names of McSwain, Spector, Ferrington, Tyler, McElroy, Monroe, Jennings, Martin, Breedlove and Olson (that character's first name is James, by the way).

In the subsequent episodes (as far as number 4), there are additional characters called McInturff, Angelica (as a first name), Schwartz, Professor Reed Smith, Rossmeisl (as in Roger Rossmeisl, who worked for Roger, Rickenbacker and Fender), Eastwood, Klira, McCurdy, Nash, Brawley, Chandler, Dean and Stagg.

I didn't bother with URLs for Gibson, Burns, Martin, Ned Callan, Bacon & Day or Charlie Chandler.
