N I Shadows Club April Report

Report of April Club Meeting

The day started with what has become the "House" band with Jim and
George sharing lead and rhythm duties,Hall on drums and Des on bass.
On this occassion Chris who was on holiday was replaced on keys by Brian,
our member from Dublin.

The opening set had Jim playing lead on The Savage and The Boys and was
followed by George playing lead on Argentina and Frightened City.
This was followed by Nivram.

Simon featured next on lead with Eric on rhythm playing Golden Street,
Foottapper and the Lost City.

John Bell played lead with George on rhythm for Flingel Bunt,Stranger,
and Tonight.

Brian's lead set with Jim on rhythm included Some are lonely,Dance on
and It's a Man's World.

Next came young Sam with George on rhythm playing Geronimo then,with
David on bass followed with South of the Border and Apache.

David stayed on bass while George with Jim on rhythm played Cosy then
they swopped places and Jim played Wonderful Land and FBI.

Philip finished the first half with George on rhythm,Des on bass and
played Cavatina,Atlantis and Walk don't Run.

Paul,another young player played lead with Mike on rhythm,starting with
Guitar Tango,A Blue Day and Peacepipe.

Eric,with George on rhythm played the next set of Dance On, the Stranger
and Albatross.

We then had a set from a new quest,Jim Bennett who played TFYL,Atlantis
and Flingel Bunt.

Jim with George on rhythm played The High and the Mighty.

Simon with Mike on rhythm played Kon-tiki before they played their
Lute Number.

Brian with Jim on rhythm played Shindig.

Sam with Eric played Atlantis.

Paul and Eric played Wonderful Land.

Philip finished off with George on rhythym playing Sleepwalk.

The club is going very well and it was a full day even with five of our
regular players absent. Des is now getting a small break with David on
bass,but Hall is still playing the full day on drums,roll on another
drummer!
The ever changing lineups are making things interesting and challenging
people to learn new material and get out of their comfort zone.
Many thanks to everyone for their support and to all who help.

From next month,May, the club moves back to it's usual 1st Sunday of the month.

The next meeting is Sunday 2nd May.
