Using my Japanese Stratocaster plugged into an Alesis Quadraverb with EFTP patches (OR eTap through my LapTop, finally going through my VOX AC30 CC2....how can I get that definitive sound that Hank gets on his record? Is it because the recording Studio had something to do with it?

There's a lot of compression on that record. On a clean sound, it tends to make the guitar sound bigger and bolder.
