Boss Katana amp

Postby petercreasey » 31 May 2017, 11:52

Having had a chance to "mess about" with the new solid state Katana amp from Boss I thought I would do a quick recording of Sleepwalk https://app.box.com/s/esy5hmmo8oy4db5gm7sg8kh335xn6d1k

This is all through the Katana using a strat, the only addition was a Zoom multistomp for the echo on the lead
Before we go into the "it isn't like the Shadows recording" debate it is my version and my sound
Just thought I would share

I think that's a great recording Peter. Refreshishingly original, and a good sound too. If you've just acquired the Katana amp you may be interested in this thread:

Thanks Steve,
Recorded straight from the usb out from the amp into Audacity, put the rhythm part in using the amps acoustic sim, plus another track with a bit of acoustic( type) backing then the lead track, adjusted the balances and then converted to MP3

Nice track Pete and good to hear someone put in the effort of playing all the parts.
I actually practice with my Katana and just use the built in echo by setting the speed with the 'tap' button - based on the fact that most punters wouldn't know the difference between that and a Meazzi . ;)

Thanks Dave,
I'm sure we have spent an awful lot of money in the past on the " authentic" echoes and only the Bank manager noticed! :?

As you well know Peter, whenever I try to listen to Sleepwalk, that's exactly what I end up doing!

Your version seems to have some sort of vitality that the others lack, and I never tire (bad pun, sorry) of listening to it.

P.S Having tried out the amp when you had it with you last week, I can confirm that it is pretty good.
