Tolo - 'Sleepwalk'

Postby tolo » 07 Jun 2017, 19:39

Hello all,

Those that have known my work - know that I do not usually do cover versions of other tunes - however, sometimes there is an exception. This is one of those. Here is a version of the famous 'Sleepwalk' that I have done as a personal thank you to Kay Das (of whom I know this tune means a lot) - for taking time to promote and give airtime to new artists on his radio show 'Instrumentally Yours'. He has played a lot of my original work over recent months - giving me and my last record some attention across the ocean (and some iTunes sales!) - and so I thought I would say 'thank you' in the best way I could. I am hoping that Kay himself will record a collaborative cameo for this track that I can include it on my forthcoming release - Kaleidoscope.

For those purists out there - this is not a direct copy of any version - nor intended to be. Just my own interpretation of a beautiful and famous tune. Having said that - I do think the original is one of Hank's very best recorded performances.

Best to all,

Tony

Thanks Pete - Glad you liked it. Always difficult when messing with something as legendary as this is. It worked out ok!
