"Don't Get Around Much Anymore" is a jazz standard with music by Duke Ellington and lyrics by Bob Russell. The tune was originally called "Never No Lament" and was first recorded by Ellington in 1940 as a big-band instrumental.

It has since been recorded by countless Jazz singers including Nat King Cole,Etta James,Tony Bennett, Michael Bublé,Rod Stewart,Cliff Richard Etc..

Hank Marvin made an instrumental version for his 2017 album “Without a Word” and is the opening track.

My son Andrew made a backing track for me as well as playing the piano in the solo on the video which is available to purchase here :- http://www.philmcgarrick.co.uk/CD.html

I made out pencil written Tabs which are FREE to download here :- http://www.philmcgarrick.co.uk/scores.html

Played on my Fender custom Stratocaster 56 NOS with Kinman Impersonator 54 V3 pickups on mid position through an Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 1-65.and recorded in cubase SX 6.(No Amp used)
Additional effects added in cubase and a Carl Martin plexitone used for the distorted section.

Cubase sound edited with the video takes in Sony Vegas Pro 9.

Please enjoy “Don’t get around much anymore”
